If there was a perfect time to release this shoe, based on its name, it’d have to be fall season. With young people everywhere back in the scholastic school of things, here’s the latest colorway in this year’s Air Jordan Ol’ School IV. The fourth Ol’ School from Jordan Brand follows the same general theme as the previous three, vaguely touching on familiar design cues on Air Jordan Legacy kicks from nearly 20 years ago. These navy Nike Free Run 3.0 V3 and white joints feature angular, swooping lines derived from Jays VI and VII. Whereas the black pair we showed you a little earlier offered quite a bit of Elephant print, these move things up from an AJIII influence to AJIV, adding a bit of the Four’s signature speckle print to the blue midsole sections. Check out more images after the jump and look for these at select JB retailers like FinishLine.
Light, powerful and ready for liftoff, the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 extends Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 the series into its fourth year with a Flywire and carbon fiber-equipped revision we’ve been waiting on since Blake Griffin stole the spotlight at this year’s NBA All-Star weekend. And now that the first pairs have dropped along with a sizeable run of general releases right around the corner, Nike Basketball has put pieced together an ensemble of video images highlighting the shoe’s strengths. Click through to see what a ferris wheel, fighter jet and great white have in common; we’ve got the full ‘Superior Elevation’ video waiting for you after the jump.
As the release of the Nike LeBron X Low draws ever closer, the known colorways on the horizon continue to get more and more diverse. Shown here is a pair that comes the closest so far to his actual Miami Heat colors, a mostly university red affair that also sports minor white sections Nike Free Run 3.0 V5 and a nice speckle treatment on the midsole. Take a full look at this Nike Air Max LeBron X Low preview via the photos lined up after the jump and stay tuned to find out when this and all the other upcoming colorways will be releasing.
Roger Federer was upset relat5ely early at last year’s event; can he recapture his 2009 crown by winning this year at Wimbledon? If this year’s French Open was any indication, he’ll have his hands full with Rafael Nadal once again, but at the very least Federer can count on his gear from Nike Tennis coming through when it counts. Check out Fed’s side of the London Collection 2011, a crisp white kit including polo and matching green-striped shorts along with a green-on white Nike Lunar Vapor 8 Tour. Click through to see the whole getup and let us know how they compare to Nadal’s.
Summer is a big season for Nike Basketball as we’ve already seen a great line-up of shoes ready for the May-September months. Here’s a look at the Nike Air Max Hyped that slipped under the radar; first think you might notice is the lack of Flywire, Torch, or any other breathable-first material that’s been running rampant throughout Nike Basketball. Of course the obvious point of focus is the Carbon Fiber on the upper that flows alongside the midsole, up to the ankle, and engorging the tongue. The side-profile is very simple, with a white synthetic base and a simple swoosh with a heel counter seen on most of Nike Basketball kicks. Carbon Fiber was first introduced to basketball shoes by the Air Free Run XI and went haywire with the Nike Free Run 5.0 V4 Carbon Fiber Nike Flightposite Nike Free Trainer 3.0 1, and we should see it one more time in the Lakers colorway of the Carbon Fiber Nike Hypermax. Check out the images after the jump and we’ll keep you updated with new colorways and release dates. via kinstor.
The Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle V2 recently released on Black Friday with the Air Free Run 3 hitting retailers this past Saturday. Designed by young and creat5e patients of Doernbecher Hospital, the Freestyle collection features classic Nike and Free Run models with personalized designs, colors, and graphics and like all Nike and Free Run shoes do, each of the Doernbecher releases went through the ‘Sample’ process. Here’s a look at a Sample pair of the Air Free Run 3 Doernbecher; based on the attached information, the production of the design was completed on June 30th of this year – so it must have been a long but worthy wait for Cole Johanson to see his design be released. Check out the gallery of the sample pair courtesy of SoleFly after the jump and if you still haven’t picked up a pair of the Doernbecher 3 just yet, you Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 can try your luck on us stroes.
Nike Sportswear has satisfied older sneakerheads with a variety of retro gems this year, notable releases including the Air Trainer SC 2, Air Max2 Trainer ’94 and the above pictured model that can be considered the 94′s basketball counterpart. Get ready for the games in the Trainers, then dominate the court in the Nike Air Max2 Uptempo in this OG colorway. It’s interesting to note that the 1994-95 season during which this shoe became associated with Duke Un5ersity was sometehing like the exact opposite, the only year during the last 27 seasons the Blue Devils failed to earn an NCAA Tournament bid. It’s an insight to how these older retros will be adopted by a younger generation who get the jist of their original significance and yet, only the older heads and true basketball geeks will know the full story. Get in on the recycled narrat5e and timeless good looks with a pair purchased from Eastbay or on us stroes.
To say that Paul Rodriguez is the Michael Free Run of skateboarding might be overstating his greatness, but there’s no questioning the success of both men’s signature sneakers and apparel lines. The P-Rod lineup has emerged from Nike SB as the premier sub-collection and the enduring quality of the line is exemplified by the new Nike SB Zoom P-Rod 4. Featuring a minimalist design that uses a lot of suede for superior grip, the P-Rod 5 has a unique Zoom Air-equipped sole with Free-like ridges to improve movement and board feel. The first two colorways are a simple white-on-black look and another in cream with black Nike Free Run 4.0 V3 and red accents, both of which are available, where else, but Paul’s own Primit5e, or if you’re not in the area, get yours now on us stroes.
These Nike Dunk High Supreme’s foster subtle tones with just enough added flavor to set itself from the rest of the numerous Dunks that come out. Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 In a slick Black/Matte Silver palette, the upper is also garnished with large polka dots that are cleverly patterned for a co-ed friendly look. The overall look of the upper almost looks as if its 3M reflect5e, but there are no descriptions indicat5e of it being so; just simple the matte silver g5ing it that feel. As you can see Nike Free Run 3.0 V4 on the tongue, these Dunks also get equipped with Zoom unit soles, as we’ve seen on a bunch of Dunks released back in 2008. Officially part of the Fall 2010 season, they’re spotted early overseas (as usual) but expect them in a couple of weeks. via Atmos-Tokyo
We saw in the ‘Dominate Another Day: Gadgets’ spot that the Air Free Run 2011‘s orange midair-hovering insoles “aren’t even ready yet,” but Dwyane Wade’s taking full advantage of the Quick/Explos5e interchangeable insoles. D-Wade rocked the AJ2011 during Sunday’s 2011 NBA All-Star Game in this white and Varsity Royal colorway that nicely complimented the Eastern Conference’s traditional blue uniforms. The Air Free Run 2011 made its grand debut over the weekend, and if you missed your chance to grab the ASG edition, grab it from FinishLine or get your pair now on us stroes.
While it hasn’t seen nearly as many retros over the years as its Air Max brethren, the Nike Air 180 is every bit a classic in its own right. It seems like most of those scant releases have been mostly-white, but here’s a new pair that goes in the completely opposite direction. With a black base, these joints have a kind of organic Lakers Away look with purple and gold accents adding a subtle glow to keep things warm even as temperatures start to drop. Check out more shots after the jump and look for the newest Air 180 colorway at Nike Sportswear retailers like the UK’s End.
Concentrating on the Jack Purcell for its 75th ann5ersary, another collection has surfaced, very much on the glam side. Decked out in a full sequined upper, you have a choice of black, silver or navy. The midsole and collar trim are fit with synthetic textile in the same color as the sequins for a tonal upper effect. We expected to see these in womens’ sizes, but low and behold- the stock reads mens’ sizes. the generic profile of the shoe can easily become co-ed but we just find it amusing that it would be made specifically with the male in mind. These are a real test of confidence. via Bingo Runner
D5ersitile’s Iron Man Nike Dunk Highs r5aled Nike SB’s own, with D’s customs going the detailed route and adding arc reactors to the tongues. A similar theme is at work with the ‘Cease’ Dunk High by D5ersitile, a m6.0 of black suede and leather with silver details. But the main feature’s gotta be the arc reactor-like triangular LED lights embedded into the tongues. These joints are rated for 200hrs of shine so the lights should outlast the white outsoles. In early May Sneaker News showed you the Nike Air Flight Classic, an all-new Nike Basketball shoe featuring a number of throwback elements from the late 80′s Nike Basketball campaign. Featuring the classic FLIGHT script logo and the midsole from the Air Free Run 5 and Air Flight ’89, the Air Flight Classic is a fresh, contemporary take on those certified classics that offer a nice alternat5e to today’s Fuse, Flywire, and Air Max filled offerings. These new releases just hit Finishline so take a Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 look after the jump and let us know what you think of this retro-inspired design.
This Holiday season, the ‘Last Shot’ colorway Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 of the Air Free Run X5 will hit stores once again, marking the third overall release of the shoe. Michael Free Run only wore the ‘Last Shot’ for two games – the second half of Game 5 and all of Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals (we don’t need to tell you how that series ended, do we?). The Air Free Run X5 ‘Last Shot’ joins the Air Free Run XI ‘Concord’ and Air Free Run X3 ‘Flint’ among others as Air Free Run OGs that have been re-issued twice, so here we have a nice side-by-side-by-side comparison of all three editions; one quick look and you’ll see that the tumbled leather used on the upper of the Air Free Run X5 is the Nike Free Run Sale same used on the upcoming Air Free Run 3 Black/Cement. We’ve got more for you below so take a good look and let us know if you have plans on copping the Air Free Run X5 ‘Last Shot’. via soleawesome.
After Monta Ellis started off the 2011-12 NBA Season wearing some Air Free Runs, we’ve been keeping a keen eye on his sneaker progress and g5ing him the ‘Gilbert Arenas’ treatment. Although his in-game sneaker sightings cooled off as of late, Monta was again in the NBA headlines as he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, and made his introductory appearance with a Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 major bang. As part of his debut with his new team, Monta broke out the Air Free Run X3 ‘Bred’, a sneaker that released back in 2004 and rarely makes an appearance in an NBA game, and the Air Free Run XI ‘Bred’, swapping out his kicks during half-time and completing the best NBA Feet feature of the 2011-2012 thus far. Enough with the chat – check out Monta and his sick Air Free Run ‘Breds’ below and stay tuned for even more NBA Feet because this past weekend was without question the sickest yet! via ESPN
Our friends in the UK are especially nuts about two things: trainers and football. Celebrating the 125th ann5ersary of Arsenal, footwear retailer 1948 will release an exclus5e pair of the Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse decked out in some pristine detailing and one of the sickest commemorat5e boxes we’ve ever seen. The tongues feature ‘CXXV’ labels (125 for those who are rusty with their Roman numerals), and the lace dubrae depicts additional celebratory icons in 22ct gold (yes, gold), designed by Cartier jeweller Darren Sherwood. Just 25 pairs will be released at 1948 this Saturday, so check out the detailed images below and let us know what you think of the design!
What separates a great player from a championship player is this indefinable “killer instinct”, a contained dark side that surfaces at the appropriate time during which Nike Free Run 4.0 V3 a player takes the form of his evil counterpart, ready to demolish a village in order to find an elus5e treasure. Kobe Bryant has been a part of many do-or-die situations and as a result developed a fierce growling visage where he appears to be seething with anger but fueled by his desire. After sinking a clutch bucket, Kobe struts back on D with a protruded jaw, and his killer instinct is revealed. This new colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe V emanates just that, a dark and cold exterior with no hints of color, similar to the Blackout Kobe V we previewed earlier this year. The swoosh, Kobe logo, and rear heel tab are metallic silver, but it’s the all-black colorway that achieves the darkness seen during Kobe’s on-court killing sprees. Check out the images after the jump and let us know if Kobe has the Nike Free Run 5.0 V1 killer instinct to win his fifth championship. via kinstor.
The Kobe’s still fuming about getting booted from the Playoffs? He’s got that Free Run-like level of competition in him, so we’re willing to bet that he can’t wait to get back on a basketball court (he’ll probably let his anger out on this August when he plays for Team USA in the Olympics). Going back to his shoes – tomorrow marks the third and final release of the ‘Poison Dart Frog’ Pack. which features a funky Photo Blue, Team Orange, and Black colorway. If you need these to round our your PDF stash, be sure to visit your local Nike Basketball retailer tomorrow, or cop them now from yellownsxt on us stroes.
We hope everyone had a safe Thanksgiving Holiday and Black Friday shopping weekend, but let’s get back into the NBA Feet side of things, because the last few days was filled with a myriad of heat! Monta Ellis went ‘White/Red’ twice with his Air Jordan XIII and Air Jordan XIX ‘Midwest’, DeMar DeRozan went the ‘Bred’ IV route again, and some Air Flight Ones were spotted as well. Kobe Bryant whipped out a Grey/Purple PE colorway of the Kobe VII iD, the Spiz’ike was a Nike Free Run + 3 popular choice, and Rondo amazed us with his Air Jordan IX ‘Cool Grey’. There’s plenty more to see below, so check out the Weekend Recap of Sneaker News: NBA Feet and get caught up on the sneaker rotations in the NBA!

With all these NFL team-inspired colorways of Nike Trainer Retros, where does Air Trainer SC High fit in? Although we’ve yet to see a true capsule around the Detroit Lions, these do capture that appeal with the Grey/Blue combination. The Lions are sitting at a respectable .500, but they’re unfortunately placed last in their divisions with the Bears, Packers, and Vikings all playing great ball. Will we see Lions in the Playoffs in January? If you’re a Lions fan, show your support Nike Free Run 3.0 V5 by copping these Air Trainer Nike Free Run 4.0 V3 SC Highs this December 5th.
Earlier this year, a French fashion label with a vaguely Japanese-sounding name came through with a bunch of patterned collaborative designs. Rounding out 2012, we see this Lincoln/Kennedy arrangement flipped, as Japan’s Adam et Ropé teams up with Off the Wall on a new style based on traditional beach outerwear. The Adam et Rope x Vans Era features a navy blue mix of suede and ‘salt and pepper’ beachcloth atop your choice of an all-white or checkerboard-walled Waffle sole. This subtle four-pack is likely to remain an Asia exclusive, so have a closer look below and let us know how they compare to Vans’ best stateside releases this year.
Lake Shore Drive offers some of Chicago’s most scenic views, and with this new adidas Rose Nike Free Run + 2 3 Low colorway, it also reminds us of a guy who forever changed how the world looks at the Windy City. Any Derrick Rose release is going to have some connection to Michael Jordan so long as the Bulls current point guard continues to play in the building where MJ hung six banners, and this new ‘Lake Shore Drive’ Rose 3 Low (‘LSD’ to the locals), makes a connection to His Airness’ storied legacy with a UNC-ish colorway with a gum sole for that vintage look. Stick with Sneaker News for another Rose 3 Nike Free Run 4.0 V3 lowtop with Jordan overtones and check out this one up close below.
Here’s the third New Balance 670 sighting this season. They’re similar to both earlier releases in emphasizing classic suede and mesh in muted colorways and particularly close to the navy/red edition that’s also right in the NB wheelhouse. This is perhaps the look most strongly associated with the brand (and definitely its heritage models), the grey/navy combo that’s Made in the UK at the Flimby Factory and depicted in more images after the jump. Let us know how these compare with so much New Bal heat both new and old on store shelves early this year and grab yours today from Hanon.
We’ve seen Nike Sportswear update its classic models with countless new technological advancements, and given that adidas’ Sprint Web/Frame tech is so similar to Hyperfuse, it was really only a matter of time before something like this made its way to market. The adidas Originals Forum Crazy Light updates 1986′s Three Stripes basketball flagship with a super lightweight and breathable synthetic upper and a colorway befitting the brand’s biggest basketball star. Derrick Rose’s Chicago Bulls might not make it too much further in the NBA Playoffs without him, but this Chi-styled Forum Lo Crazy Light will arrive at retailers shortly, so stick with Sneaker News for updates.
Sports mean so many things to so many people, and one of the key things they provide to our culture is evidence that perseverance can triumph over adversity. adidas recognizes that the tenacity that made Derrick Rose the NBA’s youngest-ever MVP will drive his return following a gruesome knee injury during the Playoffs, and they’re taking the opportunity to chronicle D-Rose’s journey back to the United Center hardwood in a series of videos the word ‘inspiring’ doesn’t quite do justice. Have a look at the first full episode of “The Return of D Rose” after the jump, let us know what you think about his ‘Belief’ and stick with Nike Free Run 5.0 V1 Sneaker News for episode two.
Much has changed in Dwight’s life over the last few months as his career path began Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 to take a different route – eerily similar to that of Shaquille O’neal, who like Howard, started his career in Orlando and made his way to the Left Coast and joined the Lakers. Whether or not Howard has 3 NBA Titles waiting for him is still up for debate as his introductory season as a Western Conference player isn’t going exactly as planned, but his new shoes should definitely help right the LA ship as he aims to go back to the Finals while helping teammate Kobe Bryant win his sixth ring.
Today, adidas officially unveils Dwight’s latest shoe – the D Howard Light; it’s the lightest shoe Dwight has ever worn with adidas, with Z-Torsion midsole technology providing support for Dwight’s unique game that mixes agility/flexibility on his massive frame. You can catch Dwight Howard rock this sick Lakers colorway of D Howard Light during the second half of the NBA Season as well as the 2013 All-Star Game, so check out the detailed gallery and original sketches below and be sure to stay with Sneaker News for release info.
You can Nike Free Powerlines add Keelan Dadd to the exclusive list that includes Kevin Romar and Boo Johnson: young Supra riders tabbed by the Crown brand for great things. Whether that means a signature down the line or maybe even an Air Jordan-style lineage for the Skytop remains to be seen for this brand still in its infancy, but they’re doing a good job of building up the ‘farm system’ with new ‘Pro + Am’ releases each month that’ll have kids out there skating with a sense of urgency. Keelan Dadd’s Supra S1W takes Stevie Williams’ sigs to new heights thanks to a glossy black South Beach-accented style whose translucent pink outsole is the kind of eye-catching finisher Supra will hopefully work into plenty of new releases. This one is depicted further in more shots after the jump, then grab your Keelan Dadd S1Ws straight from Supra.
A steady stream of great releases is what’s been coming out of the PRO-Keds camp as of late, so while we eagerly wait for the release of the DJ Jazzy Jeff x PRO-Keds 69er capsule, we’re getting hit something a bit sooner as J.Crew teams up with PRO-Keds for a late-May release. PRO-Keds will reintroduce the Royal Master DK to the U.S. market after being a Japan exclusive for a period of time, and combined with J.Crew’s sublime grasp of Americana fashion, the resultant effort is one of the cleanest sneaker releases of the year, arriving at the season that demands casual appeal without compromising distinct style (a formula that PRO-Keds hasn’t missed for decades). Built with full-grain premium leather and based on an antique white midsole, these fit the bill for even the most pickiest of footwear choosers. You can find these exclusively at J.Crew retailers in late May, so peep the beauty shots after the jump because these are definitely a solid pick for Summer rotations.
Ronnie Fieg’s retail output with Asics has stayed pretty close to the Gel-equipped lineup of sneakers, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t put his hands on some other tiger striped models during his time in the footwear business. Is this a pair you could see selling out like the rest of his Kith exclusives?
